Couvernet^®

Couvernet^® is an aluminium coping system which prevents water infiltration, whether the walls are sealed or not. These coping have invisible fixtures allowing free expansion. This type of cover protects parapet walls, insulation, water-tightness of the roof, as well as the roof's façade. Couvernet is also compatible with Barrial balcony railings/balustrades. 

System components

This kind of "top-hat" protects the parapets (1), insulations (2), roof-terrace waterproofness (3), as well as the outer walls covering (4). In order to ensure the waterproofness and the perfect finish of the system, all the components are tailored-made in our workshops, in accordance with measurements taken on the construction site by the installation company. This customized approach allows dani alu to cater to all requests, from the easiest to the most complexed.

• Protects the parapets and the water-tightness of the roof from infiltrations, whether it is insulated or not
• Protects the façade from chipping and soiling, thanks to :
  • A built-in slope towards the interior of the flat roof
  • Junctions to collect excess water
  • Special prefabricated parts insulated in our workshop
• A note testifying that the win resistance is in accordance with the eurcode 1 can be provided on requrest. 
• Available in raw aluminium or every RAL colors 

Compatibles with Barrial guard-rail system

Couvernet^® is available for an installation on a Z shoe from the Barrial collection. Guard-rail collection for flat roof unavailable.

Couvernet^® EWIS

Couvernet^® EWIS is an aluminium coping system for parapets with external wall insulation system (EWIS). According to professional recommendation n°4 of the CSFE and RAGE, parapets with height lower than 600 mm must be protected and insulated, which is provided by Couvernet^® EWIS.

 

Specific supports allow a reduction in thermal bridges generated by the fixing of a coping on the insulated parapets.

There are two types of supports :

• support EWIS with console Th 
• support EWIS with plate Th

These supports can be combined with coping with a width of 600 mm max (for other dimensions, please contact us).

Couvernet^® support EWIS with console Th allows :

Creation of coping on width and downstands.
An adjustment of the height and the slope of the coping on the construction site. 
Adaptable to any kind of insulation
Reduces the thermal bridge
The console Th is adjustable in height (30 mm), slope (-10°) and translation (+/- 7 mm). It reduces the thermal bridge by 22.5% by integrating a thermal bridge breaker.* 
(*Thermal bridge : 0,24 W/mK for a concrete parapet of 200 mm wide, 325 mm high, R courant et R facade = 5 m. K/W, Rparapet = 4 m. K/W)

Field of application :

This system is also adaptable without insulation (façade cladding).

Couvernet^® EWIS support with plate Th allows :

• Creation of coping on width and downstands 
• Reduces the thermal bridge

The plate allows a relief in the tightening pressure without damaging the insulation. 
It has a 2° slope which facilitates the rainwater to flow towards the inside of the parapet. 
-45% of thermal bridge* compared to a traditional solution 
(*Thermal bridge : 0,17 W/mK for a concrete parapet of 200 mm wide, 325 mm high, Rcourant et Rfacade = 5 m. K/W, Rparapet = 4 m. K/W)

Couvernet^® EWIS with plate Th, asymmetrical rounded edges 
Dimensions are to be taken into account. The coping inside downstand covers 40 mm of the sealing.
The coping external downstand covers :

• 50 mm if the height of the building is lower than 28 m
• 100 mm if the height of the building is higher than 28 m or if the building is on the seafront.
